1. Glen's death originally ran longer. Before the MPAA got ahold of it, his body rises from the fountain of blood and falls limp.

2. At Rod's funeral, there is a longer conversation about Freddy between Mr. and Mrs. Thompson.

3. In Nancy's last dream sequence before she pulls Freddy out of the dream world, she jumps off the spiral staircase and falls in front of her house. She originally continued to fall, making it seem like she was flying.

4. In the scene when Nancy and Glenn are talking on the bridge, Glenn asks Nancy "Where'd you get that?" (referring to her survival book). She replies, "A Survival Store."

5. When Mrs. Thompson is telling Nancy about when they burned Freddy, she adds that her friends had older siblings that were killed by Freddy as well.

6. When Glenn and Nancy are at Tina's house, there is a small scene where they are kissing more. Nancy then says, "I'm Going to Bed."

7. The scene where Freddy chases Tina down the alley was more elaborate. Originally, Freddy chased Tina all the way around the block, and back to where they started again. It was cut for time.

8. There are two alternate endings that were set up for the movie. In one, Nancy and the others just drive off down the road with Marge waving at them and then it fades to black. In the other, Nancy gets on a school bus with Freddy driving, which would then set up Part 2.
