"They Saved The Best For Last!"

Springwood, Ohio
10 Years From Now

The town of Springwood has literally become a ghost town, as parents and families alike have been ravaged by mysterious suicides and deaths to all their children. In fact, everyone believed that Freddy Krueger had finished his work on Elm Street, and that all of the children were dead. However, new evidence reveals there is one remaining teenager--

The teen, named John Doe, is ravaged by Freddy in the dream world and knocked unconsicous. When he comes to, he cannot remember who he is and where he came from, only that he was the last. Seeking help, he gets picked up and taken to a youth shelter, under the care of Dr. Maggie Burroughs. Maggie tries repeatedly to help John, but she cannot jog his memory. Discouraged, she ponders what to do, when she has the same nightmares as John-- nightmares of Freddy Krueger. Maggie, however, is not willing to admit her problems to Doc, a dream expert working at the clinic, and plays it off as nothing. She decides to take John back to Springwood to seek his answers, hoping in some way that his resolution could help her get clues to her problems.

On the way to Springwood, they discover that three of the teens at the shelter, Spencer, Carlos, and Tracy, stowed away in the back of their van to run away. Fuming, Maggie orders them to get to a phone in Springwood and call back to the shelter-- then drive straight back. Maggie, meanwhile, takes John and searches the desolate town. What they find is a depressed, manic town and an old, elderly population. A downtown carnival tells them all they need to know-- there were no kids.

Maggie and John go to the elementary school, where they learn that Freddy had a child and that it was taken away from him. John, convinced he was Freddy's kid, starts to figure out that Freddy kept him alive because he is flesh and blood. Maggie thinks its crazy, but goes along with him.

Meanwhile, Spencer, Carlos, and Tracy get lost in Springwood, and end up driving around in circles, no matter which direction they went in. Freddy's power had lured in three more of "his" children. Discouraged, they decide to pull up in an old house on Elm Street for the night to get some rest. That house turns into 1428 Elm, Freddy's old house. The house he used to terrorize for many years. The three teens split up and Freddy picks them apart one by one. Carlos is the first to get it, victimized by his own hearing deficiency. Tracy and Spencer, unaware of it, decide to keep looking for help. Tracy goes out to look for Maggie, while Spencer lies down for a J-break. He passes out from being stoned, and Freddy takes advantage of him-- using his passed-out state to rack up another soul.

Tracy finds Maggie and John, and they try to save Spencer, but it's too late. Freddy claimed another. Maggie was made a believer, and Tracy escapes the dream world, leaving John to his death. While hanging in limbo, Freddy reveals to John that he only kept him alive long enough to bring him his daughter. Stunned, John knows he has to tell Maggie and Tracy before it's too late, but they are unable to wake him, and John falls to his death onto a bed of nails. Before he dies, John tries to tell Maggie that "it's not a boy," but he was so incoherent, Maggie couldn't understand him.

Freddy then hitches a ride inside Maggie's head and follows them back to the shelter. Maggie then finds out she is adopted, and starts to put the pieces of the puzzle together. Back at the shelter, Maggie finds out that Spencer, Carlos, John, and Tracy were completely erased from memory by Freddy. No one knew who she was talking about, so she goes to Doc for help. He suggests going into the dream world and pulling Freddy out, then killing him once and for all. He even gives her a pair of 3-dimensional glasses, which can be used for anything Maggie wants in the dream world. Tracy, who managed to escape Freddy's wrath a second time by burning herself on a stove, wants to go in with her, but Maggie says it is much too dangerous, and goes in alone. There, she gets inside Freddy's head and finds some of his "best" memories growing up. After that, she finds Krueger, who confirms her worst fears-- she is Krueger's daughter, Katherine.

The battle rages on as Katherine tries to pull Freddy out into the real world to finish him forever, and Freddy tries to hang onto his world, the world he is the master of.

Would Katherine be successful and put a stop to Freddy Krueger once and for all, or would Freddy stay in control, and go to "a whole new playground?"
